There are so many nice coffee shops in New York. One of them is called Taidama which means I’m home in Japanese. Their baked goods all look so good. So far, I’ve tried the lavender blueberry cupcake, but I’m already eyeing their espresso donut. They offer amazing drink options as well, such as a sesame latte which is harder to find here.
I love coffee shops. Having a nice spot with relaxing music to read a book or talk with a friend while trying out delicious foods and drinks is honestly a luxury I’m thankful to have.
I am still romanticizing being a barista and would love to learn how to make latte art. It remains on my list. I also romanticize having my own cute coffee shop which would be open only a few days a week. A quiet calm place with the smell of coffee and cake gently in the air.
Places like this also remind me how much I romanticize learning languages. I love sitting in a quiet corner with a warm drink, notebook open, writing down new vocabulary while soft music plays in the background.
The coffee shop owner thanked me for the transaction in Japanese with a kind ありがとうございます. In my head, I had a broken conversation with her in Japanese but was too shy to actually approach her and talk to her. However, next time I’ll jump over my shadow and practice my Japanese while trying out some of their other beverages and baked goods.
